Asset Registration in CASM help ensure your asset records match what’s been purchased, but, it also lays the foundation for all future tracking, reporting, and decision-making around an asset. Prior to these steps, make sure your Asset Branches, departments and asset categories have been set up.
Step 1: Add an Asset
Navigate to My Assets: Go to the ASSETS menu and select MY ASSETS.
Click the Add Asset Button: Locate the clickable “+” icon in the top right corner of the asset grid. Clicking this will open a popup window for adding a new asset.
Fill in the Required Fields: The popup window will display various fields. Be sure to complete all the mandatory fields marked with an asterisk (*) to properly identify and manage the asset financially.
Make sure you selects where the asset will be – Branch and department.
Select the asset category information too.
Capture the asset serial number and asset tag number. Note: if there is no serial use the tag. number as both serial and tag numbers.
State the condition of the asset.
Step 2: Complete the Purchase information
Provide Purchase Information (Purchase Tab): Switch to the Purchase tab within the popup window. Here, you’ll enter details like: Purchase Date (format: YYYY-MM-DD), Warranty Information (e.g., warranty start/end date), Purchase Cost.
Step 3: Save the asset
Save the New Asset: Once you’ve filled in all the necessary details, click the Save button located at the bottom of the popup window. This will add the new asset to your asset list.
